Coaching
I am licensed as a counselor in Utah and Idaho, and I only provide therapy services to clients who reside in those states or are located in those states at the time of the therapy. Coaching is a separate service that I offer for those who live in other parts of the world. Coaching is different from therapy in that it does not involve diagnosing or treating mental health issues.
The central focus of coaching is personal development. The coaching process poses the question, How do you want things to be different for you? It is an exploration of what clients can do to improve their lives and what might be standing in the way of those changes. In a coaching session, you can expect discussions about confronting your fears, learning to spend more of your time in a flow state, and pursuing your dreams. We’ll be looking at ways you can improve your self-care, strengthen your relationships, and feel more at peace in a hectic world. Coaching is also a good option for clients looking for support in maintaining changes they have already initiated.
Coaching is appropriate for clients who do not have acute mental health issues or who are addressing those issues with a therapist and are looking for additional mentorship. If it is determined that a coaching client needs additional support, I can help them to find a therapist. Coaching is never intended to replace the services of a therapist.
